North Asheville, NC
"To renovate rather than tear down was the greener choice — and the more soulful one."
Not a renovation.
A reimagination.
330 Windsor Road began as a 1953 ranch on a private half-acre in North Asheville's coveted Lakeview Park neighborhood. What it became is something else entirely — a GreenBuilt design-build project conceived and executed by Gavin McKenzie of Second Mountain, who brought 20 years of luxury residential and hospitality-grade design experience from Miami and South Florida's most celebrated projects to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Every surface, system, and finish is entirely new. The original structure and framing were preserved intentionally — to honor the home's roots, to keep the character of a house that had stood for 70 years, and because renovating rather than demolishing was the more sustainable choice. Everything else was rebuilt from the inside out with the precision and material sensibility of a boutique hotel.
The result is a home that belongs completely to the Blue Ridge — solid white oak underfoot, vaulted western red cedar overhead, charred Japanese cypress in the office, mountain views at 2,000 feet — expressed through a design language formed in South Florida's finest residences and hospitality spaces.
