There Comes a Moment
When More Isn't Better.
Better Is Better.

Thoughtfully rebuilt for a life well lived.

Not Everyone Comes
to Asheville for
the Same Thing.

Some come for the mountains. Some come for the pace. Others come because they're unwilling to lower their standards.

"To renovate rather than tear down was the greener choice — and the more soulful one."
The Story

Not a renovation.
A reimagination.

A 1953 ranch on a private half-acre in Lakeview Park — taken down to its 70-year-old bones and rebuilt as a GreenBuilt design-build by Gavin McKenzie of Second Mountain. Solid white oak underfoot, vaulted western red cedar overhead, mountain views at 2,000 feet.

Design Identity

Rustic Modernism.
Biophilic at its core.

Conceived by Gavin McKenzie of Second Mountain — two decades of luxury residential and hospitality design from South Florida, brought to the Blue Ridge. The vocabulary is Appalachian: white oak, western red cedar, charred cypress, preserved limestone.
